HIDDEN PLACES IN KANYA KUMARI

KANYA KUMARI:

                 Kanya Kumari is famous for sun rise and sun set point, Tiruvalluvar statue, Forts, Temples and natural beauty. But people mostly don't know the hidden beauty of Kanya Kumari. Lets see few hidden places.

ULAKKAI ARUVI:

Ulakkai Aruvi is a waterfall in Western Ghats  and these areas are comes under Asambu reserve forest near Azhagiapandiapuram village in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu state.

LOWER FALLS:

The lower portion of the waterfall is a good picnic spot when you need to visit with family. The view from this spot is fully covered with nature.The water seems very clear and good to have bath and relax for an hour. The water here is cool even during the hot months too but though the waterflow is less during the summer times.

UPPER FALLS:

To reach the upper falls, one needs to climb about 200 m uphill. Visitor must need prior permission from the forest department to go there. The visitor must be healthy and good in swim while the climbing is make you tired too.

LOCATION:

Ullakarvi falls is far for 39 km from Kanyakumari town and about 19 km from Nagercoil town, near Azhagiapandiaouram village.The falls is up in the middle of forested hills (western ghats). The visitor can able to go on foot from the base.There are two falls which the lower falls is a good picnic spot and the higher falls which is further uphill. The water is basically spring water, which coming in as a stream up from the hills nearby.

MARUNTHU KOTTAI HILL:

Marunthu Kottai is an ancient Fort trekking place located in Kanyakumari District of Tamilnadu. The fort is used to treat the wounded soldiers, to manufacture and store the gunpowder. It was built during the reign of the King Bala Marthanda Varma (1729-1758). It is located on the hillock at a height of 895 feet from the sea level.

LOCATION:

Its located in thuckalay ,Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu state.The base of the hill is little far away from the marunthu Kottai bus stand. The visitor can be visit half of the hill by vechile and they must walk on foot for an hour to reach the top of the hill (The visitor must take an water with them bcoz its very hard to find the water in way).

VALLICHUNAI WATER FALL:

The place is really awesome for visiting ,photoshoots and relaxing. The water flows and fall in-between gap of two rocks and gives an illusion like the water comes from cave . The water is very chill and pure. The visitor can drink the water without boil too.

LOCATION:

It is located in KumaraKovil , Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. The base of the hill is located in near to temple which is locate back of the Noorul Islam college. From the base 1.5km to 2km walkable distance to reach the view point or the water fall.
